The largest hot spring in the state (136 degrees F.) flows into a pool about 75 feet in diameter. The Big Pagosa is fenced to keep out daredevils and has outdoor interpretive markers. The adjacent commercial hot springs has channeled other hot springs into a series of sculpted concrete pools descending a slope to the river, allowing patrons to stew over a wonderful view of the San Juan River and the San Juan Mountains beyond.
