Town founder Richard S. Little hired a leading Denver architect to design this two-story, nearly square house, with rhyolite walls 15 inches thick and rhyolite trim. Its hipped roof is fronted by gables on protruding bays. In the 1930s, the house was remodeled by owner Harleigh R. Holmes, Sr., who replaced original windows with large metal casement units. Holmes pioneered development of a front-wheel-drive axle system for small trucks made by Littleton's Coleman Manufacturing Company.
