St. John's Episcopal Church

A New York firm produced this classic English-influenced Gothic Revival design, executed in rough-cut ashlar blocks of local sandstone, with a prominent, crenelated corner tower finally finished in 1921. Additions to the east borrow the original steep roof pitches, shake shingles, and even the stonework of Wagener's chapel. Both new and old interiors have Edgar Britton's stained glass windows.
