A large curvilinear parapet once topped the false front on one of the most impressive edifices in town. All that is gone, but pedimented windows still adorn the second story of this gambling saloon with raw vertical plank sides, where the town's Saturday night dances were held upstairs. During Prohibition, Hurley's was rehabilitated as the St. Elmo Mercantile.
