The architects designed the circulation system of this two-block-long classroom building to provide light and views for orientation. The corridors wrap the outside of the building, and stairs are on the outside, enclosed in glass block for visibility. An atrium running the length of the south side provides space for lounging, studying, and eating, with access to outdoor terraces. The oversized clocks on the exterior, according to architect George Hoover, “are to give a sense of going to school, of getting to class on time.”
