Built for Adolph J. Zang, the son of the founder of the Zang Brewing Company, this monochromatic Neoclassical Revival mansion of gray brick trimmed in graystone rebukes its less formal neighbors. The two-story, semicircular portico that proclaims the main entrance is supported by two massive Ionic columns. The front dormer in the hipped roof gives access to a small terrace from the third-floor ballroom. Behind splendid oak doors, the interior, now converted to offices, features stained and painted glass windows, painted and gilded ceilings, five ornate fireplaces, a Tiffany chandelier, and twelve varieties of wood in beautifully carved wood-work.
