Maurice Biscoe, a Beaux-Arts-trained architect, went to Denver to represent the New York firm of Gordon, Tracy and Swarthwout in the construction of St. John's Cathedral. He stayed in the Mile High City to design fine residences, including his own, a two-story, L-plan house in Mediterranean Revival style with modest but pleasing detail.
