4 Bar 4 Stage Stop and Barn

-A A +A
1880s. 3.4 miles northeast of U.S. 40 on Grand County 5

Richard W. McQuery and his clan built these two structures of round logs hewn only at the crudely notched corners. Both are now ruins, abandoned and sinking into the earth. The stage stop retains an unsteady second-story porch and vestiges of the first-floor accommodations.
