This two-story, red brick corner grocery, named the E. E. Stewart Block on the stone corner entry entablature, was operated for four decades by Elvyn E. Stewart. The keystones of the Washington Avenue second-story windows are carved with the initials of the Golden Knights of Pythias Lodge, which met upstairs. The Indian mural painted by John Walker on the south wall is the remnant of an 1891 advertisement for Rocky Ford Cigars.
