One of the largest buildings in Burlington is this two-story commercial structure of locally fired yellow brick. Classical detailing includes a central pediment containing the name and construction date in the parapet. Flat pilasters with Ionic capitals divide the street facades into vertical bays, and brick corbeling accents stone trim. A 1917 rear addition housed a creamery with apartments above. It and a full-width front porch with enclosed second-story access to flanking open balconies were removed in 1996. A. R. Winegar was one of the founders of the Kit Carson Land Company, an early settler, developer, and businessman.
