The Palladian window in the front dormer distinguishes this two-and-one-half-story buff brick four-square. A low hipped roof, compass-point dormers, wide eaves, large windows with sandstone lintels, and a wrapping porch dominate the exterior, creating a horizontal feel, despite the house's height and traditional massing. A matching carriage house reflects the strong, symmetrical geometry of the house. The original owner, W. C. Harris, was a prominent rancher who opened one of the county's first feedlots in 1906 and pioneered the use of agricultural byproducts to feed live-stock.
