Broad eaves give a Prairie Style horizontality to this one-story Beaux-Arts Mediterranean Revival library with a creamy stucco exterior and a red tile roof. Durango architect Michael Bell came up with a fine solution: his new entry hides the 1967 eyesore and uses cream-colored stucco walls with cast stone banding that matches the original jewel box.
