Maxwell House

-A A +A
1899, R. G. Maxwell, builder. 2340 W. Mulberry St. (NR)

Above a cut stone foundation, brick walls rise one-and-one-half stories to a cross-gable roof. Decorative bargeboard graces the projecting eaves of the shingled gable ends. Stone walls guard the early Farm-house and grounds, which contain a circular, rough-cut sandstone well house. R. G. Maxwell was a founder of the Empire Grange (1904), nearby at 2306 West Mulberry Street, for which he donated the land.
