The first large double-curvature, thin-arch dam built in the United States is 469 feet high and 740 feet long, with a 52-foot-wide base tapering to 12 feet at the crest. The dramatic free-falling spillway is three times the height of Niagara Falls, and the underground power plant has a 120,000-kilowatt capacity.
