This starting point for park tours is a circular stone structure, a modern-day rendition of a huge kiva. An entry ramp tunneling under the highway suggests the subterranean entries to kivas and pit houses. Nearby is the only overnight accommodation (other than Morefield Village Camp Ground) in the park, Far View Motor Lodge (1965, Barker, Rinker, Seacat). It consists of simple, one-and two-story detached units of glass and vertical clapboard on frame raised on concrete stilts. The motel rooms have outside decks and flattened, V-shaped roofs flared to accentuate the fine views.
