Second only to Rosemount among Pueblo mansions, this may be the only work in Pueblo by Denver architect William Lang. The Richardsonian Romanesque show house uses red sandstone both as sheathing and as ornament, including fancifully carved gargoyles and cherub faces. Governor James B. Orman built the house, which was later the home of Governor Alva Adams and his son, U.S. senator Alva B. Adams. The lavish mansion has expansive grounds and a similarly styled carriage house.
