The full-width front porch of the Silver Heels Tavern is part of a one-story horizontal shiplap facade on a stuccoed cinderblock building forming a balustraded false balcony. The false front has Carpenter's Gothic brackets supporting a modest board cornice with a central pediment. A plank floor, balcony, and old-fashioned high-back booths under a pressed metal ceiling embellish the interior. Silver Heels, a legendary prostitute with a heart of gold, nursed local miners through a smallpox epidemic.
