A small town grew up at the stage and, later, railroad stop, where Emerson and William Webster operated the Hall Valley and Webster Pass wagon road to Montezuma, Breckenridge, and the Summit County mines. Today the cemetery, ruins of charcoal ovens, and frame and log cabins linger in an easily accessible ghost town.
