Paoli Pool Hall

Strategically located across the street from major grain elevators, this simple box has always been a pool hall, restaurant, and recreation center. It is notable for its diagonal oak floor, wrought iron swivel chairs, big, solid oak tables, stainless steel bar footrail, and a Neoclassical mahogany back bar from the Brunswick Balke Collender Company. Old-timers here recall when this pool hall was the hub for the local jackrabbit roundups, which exterminated rabbits by the millions.

The town of Paoli (1888, 3,898 feet) was named by a railroad official for Paoli, Pennsylvania, and the nineteenth-century Italian hero who fought against French domination.
