The original men's reading room survives in the stone-walled basement of one of Colorado's best-preserved Carnegie libraries. The original golden oak card catalog and wood-work, as well as portraits of Andrew Carnegie and Charles Darwin, still adorn this tiny sanctuary. The Fort Wayne, Indiana, architects, John Wing and Marshall Mahurin, provided plans implemented by local contractor Thomas G. Edwards.
