This prospect hole proved rich enough to justify six tunnels by 1911. Hard-rock miners dug gold, lead, and silver here for eighty years. In 1984 the Summit Historical Society restored the above-ground shaft house, change room, equipment, and part of one shaft for hard-hat tours.
