Adeline Hornbeck built this homestead house with the help of her three sons. The one-and-one-half-story structure, of massive squared logs with V notches, has a steeply pitched cedar-shingled roof with board-and-batten gable ends. The main floor contains a bedroom, parlor, kitchen, pantry, and well room in a T plan. The National Park Service moved a bunk-house and barn to the site and reconstructed the rustic pole fence for what is now a house museum.
