National Place is a large mixed-use complex that zigzags around the buildings of the National Press, the National Theater, and the National League of Cities. It connects 14th St. and Pennsylvania Avenue with 13th and F streets. Incorporating the Marriott Hotel and a shopping atrium, National Place is better appreciated from the interior, where a grand hotel lobby connects to ballroom levels and shopping arcades. Its bland brown brick exterior serves as a backdrop for the more exuberant Willard Hotel.
