Levy's Loan Office (Central National Bank)
The Queen Anne red brick and sandstone facade has lost much of its decorative detail, including fine window grilles, but retains four carved lions' heads. The bank at first occupied only the front ground floor, with a real estate firm, Gibbons and Moore, on the Shipley Street side. The upper floor housed the nascent DuPont Engineering Department (1904), by which dynamite plants and other facilities were designed. Harris Jewelers eventually took over the building and remodeled the ground floor (1956, Morton Bleich).
