Komo Store

One of the oldest continuously operating stores along the Mamalahoa Highway, this two-story structure well represents plantation building tradition with its green tongue-and-groove walls and white window frames. The single-wall building rises above the ordinary with a second-story lanai and a segmental-arched arcade. The family lived on the second floor, while the single-story, board-and-batten wing serves as a warehouse. Kakuro Komo started this store which is now operated by his son, Kenneth Komo.
