Set in a 6.67-acre oceanfront garden, Kahala Beach Condominiums comprise four buildings sited perpendicular to the beach. Each of the four-story, flat-roofed, reinforced-concrete buildings houses between forty-four and fifty-two residential units. Inset lanai with anodized-aluminum railings, many of which have been enclosed, give texture and definition to the buildings and offer views of the Pacific or the surrounding landscaped courtyards. The lanai's shuttered doorways reappear in Killingsworth's later Halekulani Hotel (OA133), as do the simple concrete post and beams framing the buildings' outdoor foyers. The shared foyer between buildings two and three seemingly floats as a platform above its surrounding pools.
