Waialua Courthouse

-A A +A
1913. 66-207 Kamehameha Hwy.

With six Doric pilasters and a pedimented front gable, the former courthouse ranks as one of the more architecturally pretentious buildings in Haleiwa. Asserting a commanding neoclassical presence, this double-wall building with its twelve-foot-high ceilings initially housed the post office and public health center, as well as the district court; it now serves as an office building. A jail was located in the rear basement.
