This brick-sheathed Prairie house is covered by the usual wide overhanging hipped roof. The balanced facade with its central entrance takes one back to Frank Lloyd Wright's 1893 Winslow house in River Forest, Illinois, and also to many of the midwestern houses of George W. Maher. Vertical engaged piers define the center of the building, and from these is cantilevered a thin slab roof that provides shelter for the entrance door below. To the left side of the house is a two-story porch, living below and sleeping above.
