A Prairie-style house, one would assume, should match the horizontality of the land in its design, but as the Cornog house indicates, that is not always the case. Here one has a cubelike box, seemingly more vertical than horizontal. A thin, low-pitched hipped roof with extended eaves covers the stucco-sheathed box below. A band of wood starts at the soffit, goes down the wall, and then proceeds well under the first-floor windows; it then turns another 90-degree angle and returns to the roof soffit. An entrance porch with a nearly flat roof projects from the front of the house.
