This small brick chapel was based on a mid-nineteenth-century example, described in the dedication brochure (January 11, 1953) as “an exact replica of Saint John's Methodist Episcopal Church, Johnson County, 1874.” While some of the detailing is Gothic—pointed windows and the thin tower and roof—the flavor is that of the late Colonial Revival; it has the best of both worlds.
