The design of this substantial two-story dwelling was balanced between the late Eastlake and the Queen Anne. The design fulfills the Victorian ideal of being varied and picturesque. It is composed of narrow vertical volumes, each covered by a steeply pitched gable roof. Tall paneled chimneys add verticality to the building, as do all of the window units. Panel-work occurs above many of the windows, and in a number of instances the horizontal paneling forms bands across the facade. Ornamentation carried out in sawed or turned work abounds on the porches of the first and second floors.
