U.S. Post Office Building

-A A +A
1940, Louis A. Simon, Neal A. Mellick. West side of Ford, south of Main St.

The architects created the usual Colonial Revival image for this post office, but they also tried to absorb the newfangled modern style. On the whole, they succeeded. The gable roof helps, as does the cast-stone entrance screen with its pilasters, slight gable, and central cupola.
