Malchow Mounds

9 miles north of Burlington on Iowa 99; 1 mile north of Kingston; west side of route 99

The Malchow Mounds and the adjacent Poisel Mounds total over 55 mounds, erected between 200 B.C.E. and 200 C.E.. The groups of conical mounds on these two sites constitute the most extensive mounds still remaining within Iowa.
