When first built, the Eighmey house presented the usual blend of the Queen Anne and the Colonial Revival styles current in the early nineties. The building's most pronounced feature was the pair of circular corner bay towers, one topped with a conical spire roof, the other with a concave/convex metal roof. In the early 1900s the house was made more up-to-date and respectable (and of course even more Colonial) by the addition of not one but two two-story porches with Corinthian columns.
