This site is of interest for two reasons: it houses a 260-acre demonstration area of trees and plant material that can be used successfully in erosion control, and it is a place where several historic folk buildings have been relocated. These include a log cabin (c. 1840), a one-room schoolhouse, a railroad depot, and a blacksmith shop.
