The precedent here is that of the Italian High Renaissance and the centralized church building. The center of this church is a square with its corners cut off. Above this rises a drum with windows, and a low dome. Two grand temple fronts with pediments face out into the two streets. Each of these fronts has four Corinthian columns set in front of a triple-arched loggia. The auditorium within is a square lighted principally by the drum.
