Pierce House (now Sioux City Public Museum)
Generally, buildings in the Richardsonian Romanesque style tended to be more solid and sedate than wood-inspired American Queen Anne buildings. The Pierce house illustrates how stone could be treated relatively lightly, yet still retain its solid masonry quality. The varied roofscape of this house is as picturesque as one could desire.
