Though modest in size, this brick railway station on a stone base conveys a public scale. The architect accomplished this by carrying the walls quite high before they meet the roof eaves, by using brick parapeted gables, and finally by creating a dignified procession of rectangular windows. The long platform is covered by an iron roof and passes in front of the train side of the station. On one side, the covered platform is joined to the separate baggage building.
