Labeled “Modern” in style when built, this design by Cleveland would be designated today as late-twenties Art Deco. The entrance motif is suggestive of a two-dimensional Moderne perfume bottle with accentuated vertical lines that grow in intensity as they reach the top. While the building is generally reticent in overall design, the handling of the brick, limestone, and polished stone make this a vigorous example of the popular Moderne.
