Russell House

The Russell house shares the same site and block of the street as the Snowden dwelling ( NO322). It presents a classic, beautiful picture of an Italian villa, a style that was very popular in this country from the 1840s through the 1860s. The cubelike form of the Russell house is surmounted by the usual wide entablature and bracketed roof, which in turn is crowned by a central cupola. The well-preserved interior of this house is furnished with furniture of the middle to late nineteenth century. The house is maintained as a museum and is open to the public.
