Though the plan of this Romanesque Revival church with a corner tower is conventional, its detailing is not. The wood-shingled gable ends wrap around and hang over the brick body of the building. The theme of wood-shingled triangles at the apex of the gable and at the eave ends is repeated by paired bracketed triangles placed at the sides of the two entrances located at the base of the tower. The tall tower with its corner shingled columns contains pairs of vertical bands composed of an elongated, narrow arched window together with a row of small circular openings. The whole adds up to an original and vigorous design.
