First National Bank of Shannon City

c. 1920. Take route P27 south 5 miles, then travel east on route H45 4.5 miles; take improved road south to Shannon City

In the small town of Shannon City, southeast of Creston, there is a well-preserved example of a small-town bank building. The low, one-story box is sheathed in brick, with the cornice, entablature, and base of the building constructed of Indiana limestone. The flat pilasters, together with the entablature/cornice, establish the building as an example of down-to-earth, rational classicism.
