Smith House (Liberty Hall)
This house, built for Joseph Smith III, appears to be a good-sized two-story farmhouse that has been embellished in a reserved fashion with Eastlake ornamentation. The entrance porch displays sawed brackets at the top of each of its wood posts, and below is a sawed-work balustrade. The only other external decorations are the paneling at the base of the bay windows and the U-shaped wood molding carried over the windows and extended partway down each side. The 14-room house was restored in 1975, and it is now open to the public.
