In this instance the Craftsman style has been carried out with great sophistication. This two-story brick dwelling has a Prairie-style entrance with a segmented roof that is reminiscent of George W. Maher's work. The theme of the roof is repeated in the three dormers set in the flat tile roof. The large living porch to the side also returns to the theme of the segmental arch in all of its openings. A single band of light-colored cast stone continues on top of the porch parapet and then goes onto the walls of the house, connecting the sills of the second-floor windows. The wood shutters are quite interesting; they are of thick, heavy timber with thin vertical slots arranged in two rows.
