Temple Emeth's concrete semi-circular post-and-beam entrance portico encloses a single tree, symbolizing the tree of life, metaphorically the Torah or Five Books of Moses, central to Jewish worship. A modest landscaped garden surrounded by two stairways leads to the entrance court, where the Star of David appears in red and gray granite paving. Situated on a curvilinear corner, the complex establishes a dialogue with the curve of the commercial street opposite. The semi-circular end of the synagogue, entered to the left from the courtyard, repeats the form. The two-story complex of white-painted brick contains spaces for educational, social, and administrative functions, harmoniously scaled for its suburban context.
