A perfect marriage of an architectural firm and a commission, the Boston Ballet School and Studio provides lighthearted and theatrical space for dance studios, practice rooms, and administration. For the five-story building (partially built over an earlier industrial structure on the site), Graham Gund accented the brick palette of the South End with large openings, climaxing in oversized arched windows and balconies at the top. The entrance lobby's generous staircase sets the theater tone for spaces within.
