Uniontown Academy was established in 1810 as an English-speaking school in the town predominated by those of German descent. It represents the local interest in education and continued learning. The diminutive, three-bay brick building features a false-front stepped parapet with tripartite window, central entrance, and nine-over-six-light windows with rosette corner-block lintels. It served the local literary and debate society as the Clay Lyceum in the 1860s before being acquired by the newly formed public school system. It is now owned by Historic Uniontown.
