Primarily a one-story, vernacular interpretation of a Craftsman house, this hipped-roof fieldstone bungalow was the first of its kind erected in Quincy. The multicolored fieldstones were carefully gathered by the owner and beautifully laid in the walls by Cook and Blair of Hillsdale and Charles McCarthy of Quincy. The living room, dining room, and kitchen are on the south, and two bedrooms on the north. The Coldwater Courier for October 2, 1911, deemed it “one of the coziest and prettiest little homes” in the county, thus fulfilling the expectations of numerous bungalow pattern books of that time.
