Jacob J. and Cornelia McArthur Post House

Jacob J. Post (1839–1912), a prominent Cheboygan hardware merchant, banker, and city official who came here from New York State, built this beautiful Queen Anne house to the designs of Hollister, a Saginaw architect whose works can be found in several Michigan lumbering towns. The two-story, clapboarded house is enhanced by the lively and irregular arrangement of gables, dormers, chimneys, bay windows, and porches embellished with spindlework, latticework, coffering, shingles, and rosettes.
