The Victoria Dam and Hydroelectric Plant was built for the Copper Range Company's hydroelectric development and acquired by the Upper Peninsula Power Company in 1947. The four-arch concrete dam extends across a deep gorge. Downstream from the dam is the brick powerhouse with its large windows and vertical piers, which holds the original installation of turbines and generators.
